“Folk tales from Lebanon: Pearls and Peace” by Carine Bovey
For many years, Najla Jraissaty Khoury crisscrossed Lebanon to build up the most exhaustive possible corpus of rural and urban folk tales, imbued with poetry and humor - all of them about women and told by women to other women. Born in Beirut, Carine Bovey takes these tales, these pearls, and transforms them into art, in her own sensual, cruel and delicate way, convinced that eros is an open path towards peace.
